Intel has announced a major expansion of Intel’s production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. Planning has started, with construction expected to begin in the first half of 2023 and production planned to come online in 2027, subject to European Commission State aid approval and funding approval by the German authorities.
We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our new semiconductor fabrication facility here in Germany.

This position is part of the Fab Construction Finance (FCF) Cost Engineering Analyst (CEA) team in Germany. This role entails intensive planning & design efforts in various areas of this function, for this project and related projects. The position may involve managing projects across the site as well as possible Virtual Factory (VF) Projects across multiple regions/locations.
The position will report to the FCF EMEA Controller and will be an integral member of a project team which includes members from the Fab Construction Enterprise and Procurement Organizations.
The CEA is responsible for all financial elements of the project to help ensure the project is delivered on time and at the best cost to Intel. This role is one of the few opportunities in Operations Finance where analysts can both develop and perfect project management skills working with the project team as well as external suppliers.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Assures accuracy of financial reporting information (Cost Report, Cash Flow Forecasting, Project Cost Forecasting) in conjunction with Schedule/Scope/Budget for construction projects.
- Leads Monthly Close and Quarterly POR business process through analyzing variances and trends and developing financial forecasts that are consistent with the business objectives of the organization.
- Leads/Drives cost reduction strategies and interfaces with local levels of management, customer finance and division finance.
- Leads/Drives compliance with reporting standards and corporate policies and the integrity of external and internal reporting.
- Ensures that the Project Controls staff collects and transmits historical data to support Benchmarking efforts.
- Provides varying levels of advice (e.g. Tax and Asset Accounting) and financial information to operational business groups to drive the business decision-making process.
- Interacts with other Fab Construction Enterprise groups and the customer as required.
- Provides information and counsel in the areas of controls/risk management, claims mitigation, budgeting and planning, cost, return on investment decisions, and the development of overall business plans and strategies.
- Interprets information for and negotiates with clients and customers both internal and external to the organization.
- Provides input to management including department heads, operational managers, other departments, and senior management.
- Exercises sound decision making processes to support the project while ensuring that the proper controls are followed to lead to a healthy project.
- Manages project team resourcing and training, to include staffing and execution of the project controls activities on a given project or project groupings and oversight of those personnel to ensure compliance with prescribed procedures.
- Escalates issues in a timely manner.
The final location for this position will be Magdeburg site
Interim location is Home Based Office until office premises will be available, ETA: Q4 2022
Qualifications
Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors, Masters or MBA degree in Construction, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical finance, or construction cost engineering analysis, or related construction project controls field.
- Intermediate level MS Excel expertise.
Preferred qualifications:
- Thorough working knowledge of Construction Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Finance, Accounting and Business Analysis.
- Experience managing large construction projects.
- Experience working with Power BI, MS Teams, CPM, SAP.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
