Which Tasks?

The Construction Site Manager ensures that all construction activities within the designated areas (dry wall construction, electric, plumbing, ceiling, flooring, …) are well planned, coordinated and be able to utilize all available resources in coordination with other functional Project Managers in directing and supervising all involved site personnel and subcontractors with the following tasks:

  • Lead and ensure all work groups are properly guided and controlling the required resources (manpower, equipment, materials and tools required) to start and handle the work efficiently until the completion of the project, always in close cooperation with the Project Manager

  • Inspect work to ensure conformity with QA/QC specifications and requirements, local regulations and standards, client requirements and provides technical advices to resolve problems

  • Advise the Project Manager in determining the need and procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times in order to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules

  • Interact with other construction areas and Supervisors, to review and report site progress to Project Manager

  • Align with Project Manager on corrective actions if project becomes behind schedule or over the budget and if necessary make tactical decisions for allocating resources, and assigning staff requirements, to maintain project on target

  • Report plans, photos, daily updates and other site progress to the Project Manager

  • Introduce relevant procedures, guidelines, policies, etc. to the site personnel and be a leading example

  • Ensure the highest level of quality, health, safety and environmental standards during all stages of construction and be proactive with safety groups and subcontractors to promote safe and hazardous free work within the designated area

  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with installers and subcontractors

  • Ensure that all equipment, plant, machinery and vehicles on site have relevant certificates, tests, services, inspections, etc. as required by client and legislation

  • Ensure all personnel on site have had the required training, induction, medicals, psychometrics, etc. in order to carry out their work

What do we require?

  • 5 years or above experience in construction work of high quality shop interiors;

  • Good Construction Management skills, motivated, strong leadership and able to encourage subordinates and other work groups to work as a team;

  • Hands-on approach to site management, able to work with autonomy and assure a permanent presence until handover to client;

  • Knowledge of civil and structural codes and other associated codes used in the project, excellent technical background and skills in construction environment in China;

  • Understanding of other disciplines like Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication from site activities point of view;

  • Capable to understand the Company values of Client service, the very demanding quality requirements of our products and the importance of timely delivery;

  • Scheduling tasks according to client′s requests, in coordination with project manager;

  • Highly responsible and trustworthy, flexibly open to innovative designs and materials, attentive to details, passionate for continuous improvement;

  • Proficient Mandarin speaker.
