JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Science & Enabling Units IT is AZ’s global IT capability function supporting key business areas operating out of sites across the US, UK, Sweden, India & Mexico.

We are looking for application support & data engineer who will leverage tools & technology best practices to improve delivery performance & data engineering capabilities in the D&A space.

• He/She should own the Real-World Evidence data inbound to AZ from various external vendors and maintain the data in AZ AWS cloud environment.
• Should support the RnD End users by ensuring the data availability for their clinical study, providing DM metrics.
• Should understand the data governance policies for data access management and audit the User access.
• Accountable for the production support activities.
• Owner for effective implementation of service delivery processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Service Level Management.
• Should be flexible in UK working timings if required.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proven working experience as a ETL developer and application support specialist
• Interpret data, process data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize data efficiency and quality
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Maintain, support and enhance the Data Warehouse , Data Marts and ETL Jobs.
• Apply analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Any DB skills like Oracle, Netezza, Teradata, Redshift, etc
• Good experience in Unix shell scripting
• Should have thorough understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Marts/ETL concepts
• Hands on experience architecting and developing ETL in a Talend environment. Good understanding of ETL framework – Developing Audit, Control, Validation architecture etc.
• Good written and verbal skills
• Willing to work in a cross-cultural environment
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
• Attention to detail

DESIERED SKILLS:

• Hands on experience in integration with the AWS services will be added advantage
• Redshift experience
• ITIL knowledge
• Agile methodology
• Support and maintenance project working experience
