About Siemens Processing Systems Engineering This role is within SISW. Siemens Process Systems Engineering is the leading supplier of Advanced Process Modelling software, services and solutions to the process industries. We help our customers to apply advanced process models based on our gPROMS platform technology for digital process design and operations. This enables them to explore the process decision space rapidly, reduce uncertainty and risk and make better, faster and safer design and operating decisions through deeper understanding of their processes. Currently employing about 280+ employees worldwide, SPSE has a well-established reputation for thought leadership and technology innovation, achieved via a substantial R&D program spanning more than two decades. Following its recent acquisition by Siemens AG, the company is now embarking on a major further expansion of its R&D and business development activities. Therefore, we are now looking for a Business Development Director to sell the range of SPSE software and solutions, and our new Digital Applications process control technology in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) across Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, Food & Consumer Products, Power & CCS, and Fuel Cells & Batteries. Responsible for supporting PSE clients in using our gPROMS modelling software, delivering trainings and workshops as well as consulting services. The consulting projects executed within the Practice typically involve working with our clients on developing and applying the models for activities such as reactor scale up from lab to industrial scale, switching a process from batch mode to continuous mode, reactor design and optimisations, or building a new custom model. Responsibilities: · Development and maintenance of SPSE's Model Libraries for Polyemerization Reactors, which are part of gPROMS ProcessBuilder product. · Execution of consulting projects in Polymerization: · Developing and applying first-principles mathematical models to provide value to clients. This includes adapting models published in the chemical engineering science literature. · Ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality and within budgeted cost and time · Technical solution development to enhance PSE’s Polymerization product. Inputting customer and market requirements into new product development: · gathering requirements, user feedback and enhancement requests · proposing formulations for new models based on internal and client requirements · Customer support in their application of our products, including preparing and conducting training courses, helpdesk, and direct support requests · Technical Account Management aimed at building positive and lasting client relationships to help ensure the continued and successful use of SPSE’s software products and consulting services · Supporting business development for the the Polymerization practice, including visiting prospects, developing presentations, attending trade shows, presenting at seminars and conferences and publishing related work. · Maintaining and updating key solution, technical, industry and communication skills Required education and skills/experience: · A PhD in Chemical Engineering with focus on polymer reactor modelling with a minimum of 3 years of first-principles process modeling experience. · Experience with Predici®, gPROMS®, SPEEDUP®, ACM®, Dymola® or another equation-oriented modeling tool is an advantage. · Programming (FORTRAN, C, C++, Matlab, Python) and CFD/DEM experience is desirable but not essential · Ideally, laboratory or pilot plant experience with Polymerization reactors. · Good presentation and client interaction skills · Excellent oral and written English language skills · Ability to work independently and as a team member · Ability to prioritise scheduled tasks and react to unexpected problems · Willing to travel within Europe and occasionally the Middle East / Asia What we offer you: We operate in an open, diverse, and flexible culture, providing independence, opportunity to innovate, early responsibility and open and respected leadership.
