Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with outstanding record of academic achievement is required
  • 4+ years of work experience in: eCommerce operation, Omni-channel & New retail, etc..
  • In-depth knowledge of customer insights from any business sector (e.g., consumer, retail, B2B, eCommerce platforms or 3rd party service providers (TP), etc.)
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and the local office language(s)

Who You'll Work With

Being based in one of our locations in Greater China region, you will be part of the consultant community of Digital McKinsey Asia, across 12 locations. Digital McKinsey, formed from the merge of McKinsey's Business Technology Office, McKinsey Digital Labs and more, comprises of 3,000 consultants and experts across 60 offices globally.

As a Digital McKinsey consultant specialized in eCommerce/Digital Commerce/New Retail, you will work with clients in a wide range of sectors and industries (e.g. Internet, TMT, Consumer, Auto) to help them define or re-shape their business in new retail era. You may have the chance to directly work with senior digital leaders to generate insights to transform the industry not only from brand’s perspectives, but also from eCommerce platform / internet giant’s perspectives. Moreover, besides deep diving into eCommerce topics, you can also mix your digital focus with broader consulting work (e.g., operations, organization, strategy, corporate finance, marketing and sales, etc.) to generate broader understanding of the End-to-end value chain of digital business.

What You'll Do

You will work as a typical McKinsey consultant, with a strong passion for digital and eCommerce/digital commerce/new retail topics (e.g., design Omni-channel model, social & commerce initiatives, digital-enabled business operation)

In a team of typically ~3-5 consultants, you will shape and drive end-to-end digital transformations across business, technology, process and people, creating value by reinventing the core of our client's businesses. This work includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

This support includes a Partner assigned to you to help guide your career as well as formal training throughout your McKinsey career. Additionally, you'll receive guidance and support from our Partners and professional development team in the selection of client projects, helping you to develop your skills and build your network.
