In this role you will be enabling Sutton site to be the first Eaton Model plant for deployment of CI and Lean in the region; demonstrating World Class Metrics; and performing in CI and Lean Culture, the Continuous Improvement (Lean) Engineer role will be responsible for leading deployment of the continuous improvement tools and processes of the Eaton Business System (EBS), including Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) and Operational Assessment (OpA) at Sutton site in support of strategic goals and objectives.
*Support the Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (5S, visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and CI for everyone)
*Build Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) organizational capability and develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions by providing training and consulting support.
*Mentors, coaches and challenges site leadership teams and CI leaders in the integration and use of ELSS methodology to include but not limited to Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), ELSS Tools, Rapid Improvement Events/Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma Projects.
*Develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions and Experts by providing training and consulting support
*Perform and validate annual ELSS assessments
*Implement identified Eaton best practices and drive integration of best practices internally
*Be responsible for attainment of ELSS Assessment and ELSS Cost Savings objectives
*Provide regular ELSS/CI status updates to the senior leadership team
*Direct problem-solving activities and coordinate corrective action plans for production problems. Plan and assist in designing strategies to improve positive employee relations and increase overall engagement.
*Acts as an instructor & Mentor for various ELSS training programs which include EBS Pull, specific ELSS tools, Lean training & certification, CI for Front Line Leaders
*Plan, facilitate and support Business Process Improvement (BPI), Integrated Deck Building (IDB), Rapid Improvement Events (RIE),
*Coach and mentor other functions (EHS, Production, etc.) in root cause analysis and problem-solving tools/methods (A3, 8D, etc.)
*Support annual self-assessments completed at each plant to include but not limited to ELSS and OpA, as well as formal assessments when required. These assessments must identify gaps driving maturity levels, annual action plans to improve and include a process to monitor progress.
*Coordinate and mentor on the Value Stream Maps to identify opportunities for improvement and best strategies to reduce the non-value-added activities at the plant.
*Analyze and develop reports related to operational and ELSS functional requirements.
*Support the achievement of Plant Cost Out goals as established by Profit Plan.
*Utilize change management techniques such as ADKAR to effectively drive and sustain process improvements
*Monitors performance and CI plans for each plant, participate in regular reviews and recommend opportunities for improvement as necessary
*Ensure that Eaton values and philosophies are integrated into the culture.
*Participates in CI Councils
*Facilitates EBS Strategy deployment events and cadence meetings
*Leads Operational Assesment cycle
*Manage and update Cost-out hooper and pipeline

Qualifications
Ideal qualifications: BSC, MSC, Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Production Engineer or experience in a Continuous Improvement/Lean role at a manufacturing site (2 years).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques – i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence.
- Strong interpersonal and planning skills with proven ability to lead change through both direct and indirect (influencing) abilities
- Can effectively and comfortably speak to different levels of the organization; senior leaders to the factory floor
- Understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and Teams
- Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc).
- Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability – i.e. regression analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.
- Knowledge of ELSS and EQMS Tools desirable, however training can be provided.
