Eaton’s Power Components division, a part of our Electrical sector, is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement/Lean Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Beaver, PA office. Position Overview: The Continuous Improvement/Lean Manager will be responsible for driving overall product line operations performance through; the application of sound engineering decisions, New Product Development Design Implementation Support, LEAN Enterprise philosophies, Six Sigma technologies, and project leadership. This role may supervise a team of senior manufacturing engineers. This role will participate in the development and management of stable manufacturing processes that are safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible by applying EBS, EQMS, ELSS, MESH and other Eaton and industry best practices. In this function you will: Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts at the site to eliminate waste and improve productivity. Lead implementation of CI strategy and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) per ELSS guidelines. Lead efforts to improve maturity on Operations Assessment (OpA) and guide the site towards model site status Facilitate CI events to achieve site objectives Coach and develop certified lean leaders at the site. Support Strategy Deployment process at the site. Assume full responsibility of interrelated functions, facilities, products, or activities and will provide assistance to line and staff personnel in order to develop solutions for product and manufacturing problems to continually optimize the complete line. Assist in training and development of personnel by identifying and leading kaizen events designed to provide continuous improvement to processes in product development, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Lead significant projects at the site related to material movement to warehouse, rationalization, site layout improvements, and industrialization of new products or other significant projects as assigned. Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes at the site Champion Cost Out through via Eaton systems (EBS, ELSS, EQMS, MESH) and general process efficiency improvement activities to optimize the use of capital and human resources Design, develop, justify, and guide the installation of new manufacturing engineering concepts, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems through appropriate procedures as to optimize manufacturing cost and repeatability. Support implementation of capital procurement projects for the operation and facility, working closely with the Operational Excellence, Finance, and Purchasing teams to assist with both short and long-term capital plans and execute. Effectively communicate organization’s vision in verbal, written, and presentation form. Develop goals from both short-term objectives and plant’s long-term Strategic Plan Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training, development, and performance reviews of subordinate staff (LDP). When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. *MSJA #LI-ED2 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of seven (7) years’ work experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Lean and/or Continuous Improvement Prior experience leading and/or implementing lean methods in a manufacturing/engineering environment (i.e. Kaizen) Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Advanced engineering degree or MBA preferred Nine (9) years of work experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Lean and/or Continuous Improvement Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with manufacturing processes, portfolio and program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking Proven record of driving change and ability to develop and execute technology development plans Lean Certification or Six Sigma certification is a plus Experience in automotive industry is preferred Position Criteria: Good interpersonal skills, particularly with respect to written and oral communication Ability to travel up to 10% Ability to build and manage relationships with customers, manufacturing, and suppliers We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
