Contract Development and Manufacturing Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will oversee Amgen Contract Development and Manufacturing (ACDM) sites to deliver on Amgen’s pipeline molecules. This role will focus on managing process development activities and early clinical delivery. The ACDM team develops the external sourcing strategy for Amgen’s early pipeline through commercial delivery. This role supports the process development (PD) organization and drives implementation of the strategy and delivery across the development portfolio through executing activities according to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) principles and the ACDM business practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical project leadership for a portfolio across the drug substance biologic modality pipeline

  • CDMO Site Leadership to ensure programs meet compliance, speed, quality, and cost targets

  • Manage budget development, monitoring and reporting; ensure cost of production targets are met; and actively oversee forecasting, capacity planning and project management.

  • Identification of project optimization opportunities (timeline, budget, technical application), prioritization of a rolling portfolio of projects

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with all Process Development functions to increase overall efficiency and success of programs

  • Supplier relationship management, including development and reporting of metrics and supervising performance to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of suppliers

  • Creation of holistic business cases considering strategic, financial, and risk tradeoffs

  • Contribute to ACDM knowledge development and strategy including assessment of industry trends, technology advancement, and contract manufacturing landscape

  • Presentation of analyses and recommendations to Senior Management

  • Travel 20%: Domestic and International

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree OR

  • Master’s degree and 3 years of experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience OR

  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience
