We are now recruiting Contract Managers in Chennai, India to join the Biopharmaceuticals R&D Business Development & Licensing team.

As a Contract Manager, Biopharmaceuticals R&D Business Development & Licensing, you will be based in Chennai, India and will be part of a team which is responsible for establishing, negotiating and executing research agreements for the Biopharmaceuticals R&D functions.
As a member of a multinational, multifunctional team, your primary role will be to support Biopharmaceuticals R&D in the execution of routine agreements with assistance from Academic Alliances Director/Managers.
Main duties and responsibilities
Under the direction and with the support of the Academic Alliances Director/Managers and cross-functional deal teams (IP, legal, finance, R&D), draft, negotiate and execute various types of agreements with academic partners globally.
Lead and handle re-negotiations and terminations as necessary, under the direction or with the support of the Academic Alliances Director/Managers as needed.
Data entry using a Business Development database system which serves as a governance database and repository for key information in relation to AstraZeneca agreements and external projects.
Essential requirements
Understanding of key principles of contracts, intellectual property, value drivers and valuation principles of relevance for licensing, collaboration and related transactions
Experience in negotiating contracts
Degree in law or life science.
Excellent interpersonal skills (proficient in English), both in written documents and verbally in the presentation environment
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize time sensitive tasks in a high-paced environment;
Good teammate with ability to operate independently and collaboratively;
Ability to build trusted working relationships with partners;
High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail;
Additional Requirements (desired)
Experience in contract support for Academic Alliances/ Partnerships
Knowledge and experience in drug discovery and development process
Pharmaceutical, biotech industry or university’s technology transfer office experience
Experience in a multi-cultural working environment
