The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is a statutory body established by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2008, responsible for developing the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Job title: Temporary Copywriter, Museum Retail & Commerce

Department: Museum Operation/Museum Retail and Commerce, M+

Duration: 7 months

Location: Cyberport Office, Hong Kong.

Reporting to Head, Museum Retail and Commerce, you will be responsible for:

• interpreting creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution;
• creating original copy and editing content primarily in English and preferably in Chinese for a range of M+ retail and commerce marketing and communications materials, including but not limited to product description, blog post, marketing collateral for both online and offline platforms;
• staying updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in message alignment with M+, as well as ensuring consistency, accuracy, timely delivery, customer friendliness in a manner that is within the branded visual language and communication guidelines;
• continually raising the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action, including but not limited to help driving traffic, engagement and conversion;
• drafting marketing copy according to different needs / channels or tailor for different audiences / segments;
• collaborating with e-commerce team and product development team from concept development to delivery of final product and converting the messages into compelling marketing copy;
• working on ad-hoc projects as and when required.

You should:

• possess a recognised university degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Art, Linguistics or related discipline;
• have 3-5 year’s related experience in journalism or copywriting;
• be highly creative and imaginative as well as flexibility in writing style and tone to communicate with a variety of internal and external audiences across mediums;
• have proven experience in delivering direct-marketing communications in a fast-paced environment, and driving direct sales through email marketing;
• ideally be passionate about arts and culture;
• possess working experience in arts and culture / entertainment / lifestyle organizations or industry will be an advantage;
• have strong writing, copywriting and proofreading skills;
• be very attentive to details, with multi-task ability, excellent organizational skills and good interpersonal skills;
• be able to work well in a team with positive attitude;
• possess ability to work independently and with a team for meeting heavy workload and tight deadlines under pressure;
• be proficient in written and spoken English, and preferably Chinese and
• proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
