Control and Electrical Process Engineer – Regional

 

The Control and Electrical Process Engineer will be a member of the Royal Canin North American Engineering Project Team that is directing the execution of capital engineering projects at the 5 factories within the Region. This role supports the global development and deployment strategy for Controls & Electrical by providing engineering and technical expertise in electrical and automation systems across the Americas. The C&E Process Engineer is responsible for alignment with the Global C&E Technical Leader for design aspects on projects and coordination with the Global Engineering Projects Manager on execution elements. It requires the ability to work across multiple sites and cover all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and automation control for batching, continuous processing, and packaging systems.

 

What would your key responsibilities be?

  • Participates in Master Layout sessions to support and align with the Global Technical Leaders on the scope and design of the projects required at the Plants.
  • Understands the project objectives concerning the scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Participates in the Kick-Off of the Project to complete alignment on the hand-over on the design.
  • Oversees the completion of the PRP Review for the C&E aspects of the project.
  • Lead the project team in the review of proposals, bid awarding, SOW’s, and contract assignments for control and electrical elements.
  • Monitors the performance of assigned components of the project with respect to safety, security, scope, schedule, and budget while seeking ways to improve the performance.
  • Performs periodic reviews to communicate the status of the C&E elements of the project including KPI’s, resource management, and risk assessment with the Project Team and steering groups.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of the CVS actions to support the start-up of the project, commissioning of the equipment, training of Associates, and validation of processes/products.
  • Conducts the project review processes, including the PIR, upon completion of the work.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher), Engineering degree in Control & Electrical is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Control & Electrical in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive English skills – oral and written.
  • Project management experience.
  • Extensive technical skills in Control & Electrical.
  • Basic knowledge of food manufacturing is desired.
