An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer to join our Control Systems team within the Siemens Mobility, Rail Infrastructure business in Birmingham. Our Team and what we do: As market leaders across rail, road and logistics, Siemens Mobility Limited are pursuing the goal of networking various transportation systems with one another to move people and goods efficiently - complete mobility! Our expansion is being driven by customer demand for our cutting-edge advanced route setting systems that resolve train conflicts and delays far in advance to allow corrective action to be undertaken in a controlled and planned manner. Your role, and what you’ll be doing: The role will include working as part of a team of developers, tackling various tasks within that team during the development of a large-scale applications. Supporting the delivery of Control Systems products, helping to identify and develop solutions for currently labour-intensive application data production through automation. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will work through the implementation of projects to deliver a technical solution which meets the customers’ needs and complies with industry specifications. What will be my Responsibilities? Working in an Agile environment to deliver software tools. Preparation of software requirements, high level software design and test cases Ensure technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of Control Systems work. Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, company procedures and standards. Assist with testing of software modules within the team. Produce software documentation and user manuals What Qualifications, Skills and Experience do I need? Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or similar subject area Relevant practical experience in Object Oriented languages such as C#/C++ Proven experience in Agile methodology and practices Membership of the IEE or IRSE or recognized professional body Excellent communication skills.
