An opportunity has arisen for a Controlling and Management Accountant to work in a support function as a part of our Finance team in our Perth offices. The Controlling and Management Accountant will be responsible for the senior guidance to CPM team.
Responsibilities
- Leads commercial project management team in content-related tasks, plausibility checks and mentoring of team members
- First point of contact for MRX/Siemens Mobility Australia regarding project-related financial reporting and planning tools
- Continuous improvement of internal commercial project management tools and files
- Provides services relating to performance-based financial reporting, asset valuation on projects, budgetary systems, cost management, pricing, forecasting and assists in the strategic governance of the organization.
- Ensures accuracy of project books and records in respective IT systems like SAP
- Ensures compliance with Siemens internal reporting guidelines and local Gaap requirements
- Close work with the Project Manager and the project team regarding all financial-related aspects of the project (budget and forecast, cash flow, contract and claim management, risk and opportunity management, sourcing of partners/subcontractors, …)
- Clarification of taxation implications for international project business
- Aggregation of all financial data from all projects for the whole P&L and balance sheet to ensure a transparent financial reporting in respective accounting information systems
- Performs performance analysis like actual vs. plan or ad-hoc analysis for management
- Performs evaluations of assets and liabilities and manages inventory measures on a regular term.
- Responsible for planning, controlling, forecasting and budgeting of profit centres
- Provides advice on financial planning, risk management, provides management with reports to assist in decision-making regarding projects and profit centres
- Maintains and control cash flow
- Proactively working on increasing transparency and higher automation of aggregation of financial figures as input for strategic business decisions
- Ensures overall compliance with internal and external reporting and accounting guidelines
- Supports internal financial control
Skills:
- Bachelor or Master in business administration or comparable
- Around 5 years experience in commercial project management in international project business
- Strong experience in PM@Siemens guidelines, CPM certification
- Strong experience in commercial project management in project planning and reporting, contract and claim management, accounting guidelines, tax clarification and risk management
- Experience in profit centre planning and controlling including balance sheets / cashflow statements and value flows
- Strong experience in Excel, SAP, project reporting tools like ProjectDash and ROCCIT
- Fluent in English, basic skills in German optional
