Controls Co-op (Spring 2022)

Job Description

This is a Co-Op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: Spring, 2nd rotation: Fall, 3rd rotation: Summer).

The main objectives for this term revolve around assisting the department with the daily operations of managing Controls initiatives and driving continual improvement of PLC related topics within the Body Shop

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • This will be a developmental role where the Coop will spend a large portion of their time learning how to write, read and change PLC (Programmable logic controller) code to support continuous improvement projects related to Controls.
  • Changing PLC code to support SAS revision rollout and cleanup of faults generated by the new SAS revision.

  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background
  • Basic Electrical trouble shooting skill
  • Knowledge of PLC coding
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Project leadership skills
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions. 
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • Must Attach an unofficial transcript upon applying 
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term. 
  • The work term dates for this position are January 3 2022 through May 6 2022
