Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates, while supervising waste water treatment on site. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops/maintains chemical emergency response plans and ensures drills are performed to document plan effectiveness. May serve as the plant emergency coordinator. Evaluates proposed projects and proposed new chemicals and ensures plans are in-place and implemented to address EHS compliance issues. Supports and plant’s ISO 14001 EMS Ensures required employee EHS training is completed on-time and documented. May perform training. Develops and implements plant programs, policies and procedures to conform to Eaton EHS mandates, e.g. MESH, ISO 14001, PASST, Industria Limpia Investigates EHS incidents/accidents to determine root causes and prepares and implements corrective action plans. Leads Energy Management initiatives in the site aligned to MESH CAT 2. Health & Safety (Is a combined job with environmental) Ensures all required plant safety & security inspections are performed and documented, e.g. , fire extinguishers, fire risers, emergency response equipment, safety showers, eyes wash stations, emergency lights, ladders, housekeeping, entry points, CCTV controls.and that corrective actions are completed for identified deficiencies. Facilitates accident and near-miss investigations and ensures root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented. Ensures the MSDS database is up-to-date for all materials. Performs and maintains current JSA´s & Risk Assessments. Leads security system on site and ensures procedures are followed updated and establishes corrective actions to findings and project execution. Coordinates 24/7 council to build Safety acumen with LOP’s and key elements within the organization. Coordinates RPN reduction projects for the site based on plant wide risk assessment and using hierarchy of controls on a monthly basis. Manages medical service resources from an administrative standpoint and ensures ergonomic assessments and improvements are executed in a systematic manner. #LI-SL4 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Comprehension of industry/state/country specific environmental, health, and safety requirements. Thorough knowledge and training for EHS systems development and deployment. Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes. Four (4) year degree in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical engineering, chemistry, industrial hygiene, safety or equivalent.
