Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Leads coordination across machining line supervisors of Engine Valve manufacturing. Supports in achieving a Safe work environment, quality (scrap reduction) by driving standard work practices. The position drives continuous improvement in production, by using the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). Works with Master Scheduler to ensure optimal flow of material and line balancing and leads cross functional teams for OEE improvements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Leadership of a cross functional team with overall accountability for machining line performance Owns production line KPIs (Safety, Scrap, OEE%) Coordinates activities with supervisors regarding 3x3x1 Direct operations, management of staffing, efficiency, equipment utilization Coordinate support groups to effectively meet customer requirements Supports PLM in budget responsibilities Supports PLM in SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations & Planning) Supports PLM in Staffing / Growth strategies for new production lines Ensures discipline to standards, and provides coaching to FLL Vertical responsibility (across the three shifts). #LI-CR1 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Qualifications: 7+ years of related experience (managing supervisors) Bachelor’s degree in an engineering career Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) Drive for results and high sense of urgency Leadership and & Strong analytical skills Previous Automotive Experience preferred Capable of assessing and developing team skills and capabilities Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results & meeting organization objectives Understands manufacturing models (High volume low mix, low mix high volume) Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of application of Lean tools to production environment (5S, Standard work, etup Reduction (SUR Having led high volume production lines Have led teams >100 operators Expertise with IATF 16949 Position Criteria: Production lead for Eaton’s vision thru the Eaton Leadership Model Supports PLM for a Safety/Quality & CI culture, thru teamwork, standardization and behavioral coaching, ensuring discipline Manages the production floor thru CIF (Continuous Improvement Framework) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Travel approximately 5% Leads by example the Eaton Values and Philosophies, and Eaton Business System.
