Job Description
POSITION: English Editor/Copy writer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As Sarment copywriter, the position holder will be in charge of overseeing, approving and creating all content for the company. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the copywriter will be responsible for delivering appropriate creative content for all mediums including social networks, press releases, branding content for exclusive Sarment brands, internal presentations, etc.
S/he will develop the voice of Sarment in accordance with the style guideless and philosophy of the company and convey the message in an attractive and engaging manner adapted to each target audience.
This position will report to Communications Manager of Sarment.
The position will entail the following responsibilities:
Prepare, rewrite and edit copy. Detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
Plan and develop the content according to the Sarment style for the different communication channels including, digital, traditional and internal and external communications.
Develop creative story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal to communicate the values of the brand to different target audiences.
Oversee all content production, including artwork, layout, computer typesetting, and printing, ensuring adherence to style guidelines and deadlines.
Confer with management, Communications Manager and Brand Executive regarding the development of news stories for the different channels
Monitor news-gathering operations to ensure utilization of all news sources, such as press releases, contacts, television, wire services, and other outlets.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
College educated in English language or journalism
At least 2 years of relevant experience preferably in media
Excellent sense of language and grammar, as well as basic computer skills
Wine knowledge is a plus but interest in wine is a must
Bilingual in English and Chinese (speaking and writing). Cantonese desirable
