Job Description

Corporate Communications Advisor (CCA) is responsible for the development and execution of the annual strategic and engagement plan that is comprised of stakeholder relations, social media and communications strategies that support the Department’s objectives, increase awareness and positive perception of the Department, and the position in the trade and community.

 

Successful candidate shall -

 

ü plays a key role in reputation management; acts as a strategic communications advisor to management by keeping track of stakeholders’ attitudes, flagging possible consequences of decisions, developing key messages and managing issues and communications; 

 

ü be proactive and creative in identifying and developing the engagement plans, to build and project Department’s reputation; 

 

ü in charge of the overall corporate communications, marketing and engagement functions, review activities for compliance, consistency, quality, and timeliness, and voice concerns and share ideas to management for improvement; 

 

ü works closely with divisions to develop promotional and communication activities and channels so as to stimulate engagement opportunities. Able to forge alliances and maintain positive cooperative working relationship with other divisions; 

 

ü oversees the Department’s content strategy and manages digital and traditional channels, creating relevant and engaging content and increasing the positive impact and effectiveness of stakeholder engagement; 

 

ü ensure smooth operations of the PR Team for delivery of quality service required in the Service Specifications, by leading, inspiring, developing and providing strategic direction for team members within a dynamic and matrix work environment; 

 

ü foster development of team members to ensure necessary trendy hard and soft skills are well equipped to cater the evolving environment.

 

Interested candidate should have –

 

  • at least twelve years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public/media relations, marketing and/or related fields, with no less than two years in a leading position, such as general manager or senior director, from sizable company/organisation.

 

  • references cover both Government/Public organisations’ and listed private companies’ projects, so as to demonstrate his/her understanding and familiarisation to the Government operation and procedures, as well as the capability to bring in state-of-the-art, creative or even trend-leading ideas and approaches for public relations, stakeholder engagement, promotion and marketing that applying in the private sector.

 

  • experience in effectively managing multiple business leaders and serving as the daily communications contact with senior management;

 

  • experience with public/customer relations, employee communications, executive communications, media relations, and ability to work in a customer-focused, team- oriented environment;

 

  • superior written and verbal communications skills, as well as a proven ability to consistently make sound judgments, effectively motivate and manage cross-functional teams, and coach junior staff about professional development and promoting best practices;

 

  • strong influencing skills and direct teams to build a collaborative relationship with both the internal and external stakeholders;

 

  • smart partnering skill for managing multiple vendor relationships, ensuring effective and efficient relationships with external agencies and internal stakeholders;

 

  • strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with teams;

 

  • able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and exhibit flexibility and adaptability to change;

 

  • strong sense and alertness to business and communication needs of the Group.

 

 

 

Academic qualification

 

Candidate shall be a university graduate preferably in communication, marketing, public relations, media, event managements, social science, or other equivalent fields. He or she shall achieve:

  • Grade C or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level), or language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ results in the language paper “Use of English” in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) in HK, or equivalent; and

 

  • Grade D or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE, or language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 1’ results in the language paper “Use of Chinese” in the CRE in HK, or equivalent.
