Job Overview:
Oversees and drives the implementation and maintenance of an effective compliance program at the business unit level in accordance with corporate compliance program requirements, corporate policies, and local laws, regulations, and work instructions. Creates plans, organizes, and drives development programs within the organization using lectures, group discussions, team exercises, hands-on examples, and other formats.
Responsibilities:
· Advise the company’s management on the compliance program and policy management and requires collaboration with the MBV Legal and HR Departments.
· Coordinate, facilitate and oversee key compliance activities by developing and maintaining compliance best practices, training, and policies.
· Provide communications and guidance regarding compliance obligations to the entity/business unit area and channel inquiries to local Legal and Compliance subject matter expert.
· Oversee, facilitate and report on compliance activities and prepare performance reports for supervisor and entity/business unit leaders.
· Act as internal consultant for the implementation and maintenance of clear standards of business and ethical conduct consistent with corporate standards, including the Integrity Code.
· Regularly studies and interprets federal, state and local regulations, interpreting their applicability.
· Conduct compliance risk assessments for the entity/business unit area, aggregate and analyze compliance issues and trends, and provide entity/business unit summary to supervisor and business unit / CEO.
· Support management in updating internal House of Policies and following all policies to ensure compliance with all corporate policies. Further, restructuring internal house of regulations and assisting management in communicating policies, regulations
· Develop, design and deliver internal training processes to raise awareness and ensure all employees understand and adhere to compliance regulations.
· Identify training needs and liaise with NAFTA Compliance Coordinator regarding delivery; ensure all relevant employees are trained according to corporate standards for Compliance training (including Integrity Code, BPO, Policies, etc.).
· Coordinates and maintains development programs for the organization and initiates negotiations with the State other authorities including Colleges.
· Development of concepts related to adult apprentice ship programs / youth apprentice ship programs and other potential programs related to development of employees.
· Researches and evaluates training programs. Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers or instructors and conducts approved Benchmarks observing the market.
· Researches outside consultants and services for specialized training needs and assesses outside training services
· Produces training material and facilitates training in the area she is responsible for. Selects appropriate training aids
· Analyzes course evaluations and determines the effectiveness of training sessions. Recommends improvements
· Perform administrative tasks in her are of responsibility such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and coordinating enrollment for compliance classes and other related topics.
· Creates and implements staff development programs that support the organization’s succession planning objectives and foster a highly effective management and leadership structure
· Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
· Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in business, management, law, human resources or other applicable field
· Advanced degree in business, management, law or other applicable field preferred.
· 3-5 years’ of relevant legal, compliance, training and qualification experience.
· Experience in legal compliance, ethics, licensing and permitting, quality assurance or similar functions that have resulted in a working knowledge of compliance is required. Such required experience must be of sufficient stature within the organization to exert influence and credibility.
· Relevant experience sustaining a culture of integrity within a matrix organization is preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project and process management skills.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and apply time management independently.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential documents and information.
· Analytical skills to evaluate trainings programs, methods and materials. Use a variety of teaching techniques.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
