Job Description

Eaton is seeking a Content Strategy and Marketing Manager to join the Corporate Marketing Communications team. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH location.

 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the director of corporate marketing communications, the content strategy and marketing manager (CSMM) will be responsible for the development of content strategy and developing and executing integrated marketing communications plans to support our Brightlayer digital foundation. The CSMM will lead the strategy, production and measurement of marketing communications activities, both digital and traditional, to build familiarity with Brightlayer and our approach to digital innovation. The CSMM will optimize and sustain the Brightlayer global message platform and work to maintain alignment with business messaging, to address key challenges faced by customers.

 

The CSMM will engage closely with business marketing teams to help bring the Brightlayer message platform through in product communications and to target segment audiences. Additionally, the CSMM will coordinate with business and regional teams to execute against the global integrated content marketing plans centrally developed.

 

The CSMM will drive the creation of high-quality short, medium and long-form marketing materials working with the organization’s subject matter experts and thought leaders. This includes the planning, production, distribution and optimization of content to position our Brightlayer digital foundation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain global strategic messaging platform for Eaton’s Brightlayer digital foundation
  • Provide strategic leadership to create a results-oriented, omni-channel integrated marketing strategy and campaigns that drive an industry leadership position for Brightlayer and the Eaton brand
  • Create value-driven messaging and implement content marketing strategies and measurable outreach programs that resonate with key target audiences to build a foundation for Brightlayer digital solutions offerings
  • Develop positioning and promotional content, including web, email, paid media, social, etc. in support of the integrated marketing plan
  • Drive regional adoption of global content storytelling by coordinating closely with digital office, business and regional marketing teams
  • Understand all aspects of Eaton’s brand promise, attributes and standards, and accurately represent Eaton in written and verbal communications. Act as a key steward of the company’s brand identity strategy.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in B-to-B marketing, digital marketing or communications
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experienced content marketer who can collaborate with others to develop and execute targeted, relevant, personalized content
  • Experienced storyteller, writer and editor for multiple channels and formats
  • Communications planning and campaign management experience
  • Industry expertise
  • Aptitude for understanding and explaining highly technical information
  • Aptitude for learning and adopting tools in the Martech stack
  • Experience with a web development platform (AEM preferred) and a marketing automation platform (Eloqua preferred)
  • Digital marketing, content marketing, SEO, analytics, integrated campaigns, lead generation, demand generation
  • Proven track record in creative project planning, business case development, project management, and working under deadlines
