Eaton’s CPD PCD Power Components Division is currently seeking for a Cost Accounting Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Arecibo, PR facility. PRIMARY FUNCTION Provides leadership to the Cost Accounting function within Arecibo site, ensuring accurate financial information on product costs, standard margins, inventory at the plant, cost savings, and other required specific analysis on request. Leads and supervise the implementation of strategies to improve our processes of inventory management as well as the implementation of new products at the plant by development accurate costing and valuations. Manages and prepare all inventory and cost related entries, physical inventory coordination (including reconciliation), and all cost accounting and inventory related processes according to EATGr\J Financial Policy requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Functions BOM Audits and corrections for Feeders and Assembly parts. Promote continuous routing updates to capture cost improvements and productivity. Verify drawing structure vs. Mapics and production actual process. New Products implementations Work directly with the NPD team on the development of adequate standard cost on new products implementations. Evaluate BOM's and routing to ascertain completeness and complete validations at plant with manufacturing engineering team. Lead the implementation aspects related to product costing and work with buyers to guarantee adequate valuation of all materials added to products. Production STD deviation control and accountability. Follow up to deviation process and its application. Material changes in the production lines (book cost variations). Performs annual cost roll process to establish plant manufacturing rates and maintain standard costing system. Physical Inventory Organization, leadership & execution. Local Instructions Supplies and organization of process. Personnel Orientation. Assignments distribution. Accountability verification and control Post-inventory reconciliation (Actual vs. books) Determination of major detractors and variance reconciliation to GL All Inventory Accountability Control, performed the following reports: Weekly analysis purchase price variances Analysis of APPO reports and adequate transactions on inventory and receiving processes. Approval of salvage Sheet disposition documentation: Authorize obsolete material disposal with authorization from Leadership Team members and properly reserved for. Material at vendor (outside premises) reconciliation Perpetual balances reconciliation Management of perpetual inventory transactions in AS400 (Mapics). Transactions management and controls implementation for all material movement Recording of material usage. Scrap auditing and accountability, performed by the following reports and activities: Identification of worst offenders: Report used to identify material with worst scrap. Rework and salvage material opportunity activities. General Process Improvement and accuracy. Closing entries generated in Ledgers: 4099-4102-4117 (R2051) for cost related activities such as: Issues to the lines (Material sent to production), L-Orders, Cost of Sales, Scrap/ Salvage Sheets, Inventory adjustments, Material Price Variance, Cayman ledger gross margin, Commercial Returns reclassifications (CORE), Inventory allowance review & adjustments. Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities The Cost Supervisor will supervise the Cost Accounting Analyst Show the total number of employees that this role will supervise (directly or indirectly) Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum Five (5) years of experience in a similar position. Supervisory Experience Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) with good oral and written communication skills PC knowledge: Windows, Microsoft Office, AS400 Knowledge in audit techniques and General Accounting Principles. System knowledge expertise required (MAPICS, VISTA, MENTOR, ACCESS, ORACLE) Preferable: CPA Master's Degree Availability to work extended hours when required by management. Proactive attitude towards problem solving and resolving issues.
