Position Overview: The cost estimator will analyze part drawings & specifications for stampings, plastic injection molds and complex assemblies to prepare product manufacturing cost estimates to support account managers and the executive team. The cost estimator will define the most cost-effective processes to allow for product line competitiveness while maximizing the overall profit contribution to the business. In this function you will: Analyze part requirement documents, part drawings and project plans to gain thorough understanding of production processes needed. Identifying factors affecting cost, such as materials, labor, and manufacturing processes Prepare raw material estimates, labor cost estimates for quotations and associated activities. Perform customer or product specific analysis to measure changes in cost & margin Interact with multiple layers of the organization – Engineering, Purchasing and Account Managers Utilize detailed spreadsheets and Plex ERP software to accurately calculate and analyze cost estimates. Need exceptional time management & organization skills along with good record keeping skills to work in demanding environment. Prepare official quotation as deliverable to account managers and customers. Qualifications Qualifications - External Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a pricing or cost estimator role within a manufacturing environment Minimum of one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Excel. Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Preferred Qualifications: Three plus (3+) years of experience in cost analysis or pricing. Strong analytic skills. Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders across multiple functions is preferred. Knowledge of analytical techniques for developing research and interpreting data.
