Position Overview As a Cost and Value Engineer, you are a technical expert in procurement organization partnering with R&D for cost and value optimization of Siemens Healthineers existing and new products. This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Cost and Value Engineer, you will be responsible for: In your activities you will perform cost analysis for Metal Commodity such as machined parts sheet metal parts, cast parts and high-level assembly including any secondary processes such as heat treatment or painting You will support our commodity managers in supplier negotiations You will take part at the knowledge exchange with our R&D team to improve our products regarding to Design-for-X (Design for Quality, Cost, Manufacturing, Test, etc.) in electronics and electro-mechanical commodities to achieve our quality and cost targets. This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers: Experience with machine and sheet metal shops, casting technology, metal injection molding and other latest manufacturing processes of metal parts Strong understanding of cost structures and familiar of cost analysis tools and software like Siemens Team Center Product Cost Management (TCPCM) or others Excellent communication and presentation skills with proven capabilities of managing multiple projects International travel experience, intercultural management capabilities and willingness to travel domestically and overseas Proven capabilities in capturing suppler innovation Experience working in Medical Device Industry is a plus. Required skills to have for the success of this role: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related in engineering field required Minimum of 5-year experience in engineering and/or procurement Strategic thinking, ability to formulate strategies, with capability and experience in implementing improvement initiatives.
