JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the role is to provide and coordinate activities for a timely release of seasonal product costs, proactively supporting cross-functional information sharing to achieve target costs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyse and understand Cost Sheets Breakdown received from the Vendors and drive cost challenges where needed, including Raw Materials and hardware costs, and all cuttable materials consumption assessment.
  • Use Cost Engineering best practices, processes and tools to optimize product cost.
  • Understand, maintain and populate the cost engineering tools
  • Be able to develop internal product cost estimate.
  • Manage cost engineering objectives, contributing to and in line with the overall Supply Chain cost management strategy.
  • Partner with Product Development, Raw Materials and Product Engineering teams to gather all cost information starting from the early development stages.
  • Partner with Merchandising team in order to gather all information on Target costs,
  • Follow the product cost variations during all development stages (from Prototype to Sampling).
  • Monitor and give a critical feedback on cost performance in production.
  • Coordinate activities to reduce/maintain carry forward cost at beginning of season.
  • Verify the consistency between actions taken and costs developed.
  • Identify and propose Cost Savings opportunities by analysing and understanding vendors cost sheet breakdown.
  • To conduct reverse engineering to cost core program when costing challenges arise.
PERSONAL PROFILE

•    Degree level in Management Engineering or similar
•    Experience within a leather good or related industry is ideal
•    Knowledge of project management principles
•    Advanced use of Excel
•    Experience on Hard Accessories would be an advantage
