Job Description
Job Summary Key responsibilities pertain to (a) all areas of global fair competition (antitrust) law; (b) international trade (import and export controls including ITAR, EAR and other sanctions); (c) foreign investment considerations (including US CFIUS and analogous country-by-country requirements); and (d) high-risk related regulatory areas including corruption/third party practices and associated internal compliance reviews. This includes analyzing and providing counsel on these various regulatory matters (domestic and international), and in particular proactive and project management-driven counsel on competition issues in the mergers/acquisition/divestiture contexts; identifying areas of legal risk and taking steps to ensure processes are in place to mitigate that risk; counseling business and senior management and support functions in these legal matters; providing legal training; representing Eaton’s business in enforcement or regulatory matters before governmental agencies; and exercising professional judgment to protect the interests of the business both internally and externally, along with leading related strategic initiatives of the Company, including adoption of data-based/digital solutions related to the same. Job Responsibilities Provide legal and strategic counsel to Eaton’s businesses and senior management on global competition/antitrust compliance and related issues, particularly working to further company growth in the power management space (such as daily compliance support, programmatic support, acquisition/divestiture support). Provide legal and strategic counsel for international trade compliance. Provide legal and strategic counsel for foreign investment requirements. Provide support for other and related high risk regulatory areas such as corruption/bribery/third party practices and associated internal investigations/reviews. Qualifications Qualifications Education level required JD Years and area of experience required Minimum of 7 years experience preferred including work with regulatory agencies such as the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission (and leadership of cases within those agencies) Technical knowledge Engineering/product based knowledge a plus Soft skills Leadership within a matrixed organization; driving results and accountability in and across teams. Must be an independent thinker/doer and action-oriented partner across the business and functions. Must drive relevant metrics/key performance indicators. Must drive a proactive project management approach, with clear milestones and communications across a variety of stakeholders - particularly critical in the mergers/acquisition/divestiture context.
