Airbnb is seeking a business-oriented attorney with broad corporate legal experience to join our growing legal team.  

This role is currently expected to be based in any city where Airbnb has a physical office space (San Francisco preferred), though we are exploring our remote working model, and may update location options in the future.

You will be responsible for advising various Airbnb stakeholders regarding corporate legal matters.  The primary focus of the role is to collaborate with other company stakeholders in preparing and reviewing SEC filings, including proxy statements, Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, as well as Section 16 filings.

The candidate may be asked to take an active role with or support various other corporate legal matters in addition to SEC filings, such as:

  • Corporate Governance, including preparing materials for consideration by the Board and its committees
  • Employee Equity and Executive Compensation Matters
  • Regulation FD and public communications matters
  • Assist with earnings reports and calls
  • Accounting and Financial Reporting Matters
  • Treasury Support
  • Intercompany Agreements
  • Subsidiary Maintenance

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience at a reputable AmLaw firm or a combination of reputable AmLaw firm and in house
  • Solid academic credentials
  • Strong general corporate and securities background with specific experience in the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 
  • Superior judgment and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a fast-paced workload
  • Excellent written and verbal on communication skills
  • Requires attention to detail and process management skills
  • Self-starting, proactive, driven, adaptable person who can, with poise and patience, prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Experience working with international teams and cross border experience a plus
  • Has experience with legal issues faced by technology companies
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity, sense of humor, and willingness to grow
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves (no job too big, no job too small) and collaborate cross functionally
  • Willingness to take ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Passion for the Airbnb mission
  • Member of the California Bar (in good standing) or eligible to register as California Registered In-House Counsel
