Abbott Point of Care (APOC) Division is looking for a Country Manager DACH reporting to the General Manager Europe, Middle East & Africa. The role is based in home-office / remote.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage local P&L
- Develop and implement local strategic plan, aligned with broader Europe strategic plan
- Translates strategic needs into executable long-range sales plan
- Achieve commercial plans
- Build and provide direction to the sales team: lead, motivate and drive activities of the sales team to ensure delivery of identified goals. Accountable for team results.
- Manage relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders
- Key responsible and contact person for all issues related to corporate, government affairs as well as ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for local marketing activities.
- Plans resource allocation. Develops contingency plans. Increases team efficiency by identifying and implementing organizational changes.
- Participate in local commercial meetings and ensure adherence of the local team to local policies
- Identify market segments for future growth; set up pilot projects to explore new market opportunities
- Build local account management plans, communicate these and orchestrate implementation with all stakeholders involved (sales, marketing, finance, implementation)
- Direct the activities of the APOC team to achieve short and long-term business objectives
- Develop metrics and procedures that track performance
- Prepare budgets, reports and forecasts accurately and to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Ensure financial plans and expense budgets are managed within set parameters so that both sales and margin are achieved
- Proactively monitor, evaluate and develop the performance and the efficiency of the staff and procedures
- Provide field-based leadership, coaching and direction to team
- Partner with Global/Regional Marketing to drive local marketing initiatives such as product launches, new marketing tools, new promotional campaigns while ensuring all activities comply with the relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards and corporate business and safety procedures
- Work with regional/global Marketing to modify or create marketing materials and programs appropriate and targeted to the geography
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key customers, opinion leaders and influential external bodies to drive a positive image of Abbott Point of Care in the marketplace
- Drive the principals of best practice sales management through the assigned region
- Drive the utilization of a CRM program with the sales team
- Collects and shares information on competitor products and strategies. Regularly visits customers to update on expectations and requirements. Evaluate customer surveys in order to gain insight into customer perceptions regarding our company, products and operations. Develops action plans based on this analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 8-10 years of demonstrated success in sales or marketing
- 5 years of managing direct reports
- Strong problem solving techniques
- Strong communication skills in a scientific environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Proven ability to engage with clinicians and or clinical end users into discussions regarding product benefits and utilization and testing technology
- Fluent in German and English
