Establish and implement the Real Estate strategy and plan to ensure the business has the right premises at the right time and in the right place in order to achieve economy of operations and maximize utilization of facilities.

CREM is responsible for providing comprehensive real estate services in support of the firm’s business activities. These activities include real estate portfolio management, acquisition and disposition of properties, lease administration, sublease administration, design and construction services, and portfolio benchmarking for locations across the Country.
Your responsibilities
- Develope strategic real estate plans for the medium term to enhance the Local Business Unit’s facilities for both current and prescribed future needs. The outcome is a real estate master plan with required investments and space requirements to meet the strategy of the businesses.
- Maximise efficiencies through consolidation and sub-letting initiatives.
- Manage the financial performance of the real estate for the business to meet or exceed committed performance levels. Manages assets in a cost efficient and economical way to improve profitability, productivity and flexibility.
- Establish and regularly update a detailed corporate real estate inventory of all ABB owned, leased/rented sites, plots of land, offices, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, storage, parking, cafeteria, etc.
- Supervises all major real estate investments in owned or leased facilities and ensures such investments are submitted for formal approval and in line with Group policy.
- Monitor and report on related real estate occupancy costs for all facilities.
- Act as prime point of contact for local authorities for regulatory and compliance purposes.
- Safety Zero harm – (in conjunction with the Country Health and Safety Manager) ensures that all activities led by Real Estate are undertaken with all necessary safety control measures to mitigate and eliminate hazards/risks.
- People leadership and development Ensures (with HR Partner support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.
Your background
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, architecture or related field with 8-10 years of experience;
- Ability to work in a multi-functional organization;
- Strong management and organizational skills;
- Ability to operate independently;
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in unique situations where only limited standardization exists;
- Require knowledge of financial terms and principles;
- Able to forecast and prepare budgets;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Advanced English proficiency.
