As a Country Security Manager, you will be responsible for providing competent functional support in China and assigned countries in the area of security and crisis management. Assuring the business’ licence to operate by supporting with the implementation of the HSE & Security Management System and Management Information System, in Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Beijing, Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the Region Security Manager Asia-Pacific and dotted line to the Country Chief Financial Officer, you will implement security plans according to agreed key performance indicators (KPIs), supporting and providing advice to business leadership on security matters.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing competent functional country support throughout the cluster, in accordance with the region security plan. May have additional responsibility as a Lead Country Security Manager to oversee the same throughout additional assigned countries. in one or several countries as the Security representative.
  • Tracking, assessing and reporting on emerging security trends and country related legislation. Ensuring through inspections, audits and reviews respective geographical area of responsibility is compliant with security standards, regulations and guidelines. Maintaining internal and 3rd party audit requirements for respective security organization.
  • Contributing to effective risk management of security related issues in the respective organization by providing specialist knowledge and advice on key business decisions to the business, responsibility for travel risk management program in country to ensure travelers are aware of risks at their destination and that risks have been mitigated.
  • Engaging external (e.g. customers, suppliers, relevant authorities and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB's security efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback. Cooperating with other functions and business partners to improve security measures.
  • Participating in defining the annual budget for area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets and constraints.
  • Implementing regional annual security plans and security objectives within the respective countries as agreed with country management. Maintaining an effective level of crisis resilience in the respective organization. Providing serious incident investigations and ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective actions are identified and implemented. Delivering core training programs as required by the Security Programs. Elevating security awareness among staff by conducting different training sessions on ABB security policies, procedures & regulations.
  • Providing regular updates and monthly security reports to country and functional management. Collecting, analyzing and reporting on performance according to region security plan and agreed KPIs.
  • Maintaining effective network with security peers and local authorities to share necessary security updates and benchmark best practices. Driving behavioral change for continuous improvement of security performance as well as safety and integrity practices.

Your background

  • 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years in an international company
  • Sufficient awareness of the organization chart, nature of business and implications of security on business, providing support in a decentralized organization requiring extensive collaborative skills
  • Must be a competent Office365 user
  • Military / Police graduate, bachelor’s degree with relevant studies or similar professional background in consultancy
  • Fluency in spoken & written Mandarin, good command of spoken & written English, Asian languages an advantage
  • Collaborative and business oriented. Must be capable of working either independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, being able to prioritize multiple tasks
