Job Description

Media Studios will support projects at IKEA Communications with specialist format-independent creative production competences through passion in present and new production methods. Embracing development on the factory floor with an iterative and circular flow, striving for additional creative height at lower cost. 

The Competence Area Studio set preconditions for the creation and production of high quality images and motion media. The crafts men challenge architecture, purchase and use of materials and techniques. Based on that the craftsman construct room sets and architecture for all projects that help enhance the communication solutions offered.

As a Craftsman you will…

  • Build according to construction drawings within given timeframe and purchase of materials for room set.
  • Provide advice for handling every day challenges and/or architectural issues through alternative solutions (from a cost/time conscious perspective) that could be addressed through 3D or mixed carpentry/3D design solutions, before or during production phase. 
  • Oversee/lead external carpenters in projects
  • Secure construction according to health and safety regulations.
  • Tear down room sets after production in a sustainable way.
  • Provide service during production phase which may include putting up lamps and basic electricity work.

 

Qualifications

Competence Managers in Media Studio are people with great passion for craftsmanship and an interest in finding new methods and materials, to change, develop, learn and share knowledge and experience. Service minded people, with a strong drive and problem solving approach in a fast paced environment with lots of flexibility. People with a desire to work in a value based organisation and to use the IKEA values in daily work.

You’ll need:

  • Educatuion within carpentry and 5 years of experience working as carpenter.
  • A broad knowledge of carpentry methods, materials and tools, including paint and tiles.
  • Basic knowledge in electricity
  • IKEA range knowledge, previous experience in working with IKEA product is a merit
  • Driving licence B and forklift licence
  • Knowledge of different cutting tools & their safety measures, such as table saw (justersåg).
  • Basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office
  • English, both written and spoken
