1. Deliver high-quality and engaging classes to kids ages 6 - 12.
2. Classes will range from 1.5 hours to 3 hours per session. Class groups will have 8 students max. Classes will be delivered on a regular schedule, ranging from 12 to 14 weeks.
3. Prepare classroom for class activities.
4. Independently craft lesson plans that meet the learning objectives of the curriculum.
5. Coach students in the library, encouraging them to maintain a good reading habit.
6. Use the Learn Guide Independent (LGI) Methodology to help students reach their goals.
7. Mark journals and homework assignments with constructive feedback.
8. Develop materials for workshops and new programs.
9. Monitor student progress throughout the workshop and communicate any suggestions or concerns about students.
10. Prepare required reports for students and activities.
11. Design & pitch new classes that connect with your passions and our student’s educational goals. (This is a big element of the work)
12. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to craft new, exciting teaching methods and approaches to student learning.
13. Meet with Reading Consultants regularly to discuss students.
14. Attend weekly meetings with Head Teachers
15. Attend at least two teacher development training sessions
16. Participate in center meetings and parent meetings.
17. Some workshops include putting on plays and/or films. This will require teachers to research how to teach some elements of drama and scriptwriting.
