Key responsibilities

This role reports to the Finance Manager and Deputy Head of Finance (APAC). As the Credit Controller, you will be responsible for the credit and collections function for the Shanghai and Beijing offices. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Monthly meeting with partners to discuss their aged debt
• Prepare and distribute monthly debtors reports and client statements to internal stakeholders
• Seek clearance from the practice to contact their client
• Action and empty Elite 3E collections workflow calendar items by contacting clients via email and telephone on a daily basis to clear overdue accounts
• Deal with internal queries regarding credit issues

• Maintain 'Collection Item Last Comment' report by promptly by logging all communication including contact person, method and date
• Issue fapiao invoices to local clients
• Prepare accurate and timely allocation of receipts for the AR team to process
• Banking of incoming cheques
• Review of client money receipted as 'Money on Account' to identify what can be transferred to the general account
• Seek partner approval to transfer funds from the client account to the general account and send request to the Hong Office to process
• Provide general support to the finance team

Candidate profile

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following attributes and skills:

• Degree or diploma holder in Accounting
• A minimum of two years of solid experience as credit controller / accounts receivable clerk
• Experience in law firm is preferred, but not a must
• Experience using Elite Enterprise or a similar finance platform
• Good command in both spoken and written English and Mandarin
• Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• An assertive and pro-active personality
