Job Description

The Real Estate Risk Sr Supervisor provides leadership and supervisory responsibility for medium-sized operational/administrative team(s)) of clerical/support employees. Good understanding of procedures and concepts within own technical/subject area and a basic knowledge of other areas in order to understand how they relate to own area. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Improves process efficiencies in support of unit objectives. Requires a basic conceptual/ practical grounding in policies as they apply to the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Influences decisions through advice, counsel, facilitating services to others or through joint accountability for volume, quality and timeliness of end results. No direct responsibility for financial or resource planning. Work generally affects own team as well as other closely related work teams. Full supervisory responsibilities. including duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities. Overseeing risks taken in connection with real estate activities which includes extensions of credit that are secured by liens on or interests in real estate, direct and indirect private equity and public market real estate investments, capital markets, construction lending, servicing, any consumer or commercial loan undertaken when real estate security or real estate activity, or an asset sale, or a refinancing is contemplated as a first way out.

Responsibilities:

  • This position requires a keen interest in both real estate and capital markets as well as affordable housing and community development.
  • Assist in the preparation of Prepare Annual and periodic risk reviews and assist in the documentation, closing and on-going monitoring of clients’ real estate financing agreements.
  • Monitor and review exposures within a portfolio of construction and term loans and debt securities while ensuring compliance with credit and equity policies. This includes real estate valuations, construction loan timing and budget monitoring via interaction with construction risk colleagues, and term loam monitoring via interaction with Asset Management colleagues.
  • Participate in internal deal team and external customer calls, attend bank/customer/site meetings and assist in the development and implementation of appropriate client account strategies.
  • Assist in the rRemedial management of obligors/relationships with emphasis on optimizing the recovery and proper documentation (reviewing legal docs, preparing classified credit reports, participating in classified reviews, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of Prepare portfolio reviews, product programs, portfolio stress tests and other risk and regulatory reporting tasks.
  • Participate in the Fundamental Credit and Risk Review process and other audits.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years previous experience preferred
  • Computer, analytical and quantitative skills with ability to perform credit analysis. Writing, presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail. Willingness to learn new products and programs


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
