Job Title: Credit Risk Analyst - China & APAC

Report to: Credit Control Manager

Business Unit: GbS FSS

Location: Shanghai

The Challenge:

• Primarily to monitor and assess the credit risk profiles of customers (and groups) to enable the Business Groups to grow their sales, while minimizing losses. A credit limit and credit risk score is determined as an outcome of a thorough assessment. Function as a value adding business support partner to the BG for all credit risk related matters.

• In an everchanging and complex and international business environment, the credit analyst needs to be able to identify and focus on the relevant and urgent credit risk developments pertaining to our customer portfolio.

• There will always be an implicit friction between the urge to increase sales from the BG’s perspective and the need to minimize credit risk on the other hand. This calls for mutual understanding and good communication skills to ensure we reach an optimal balance between sales growth and risk management.

• It’s important to have an eye for detail, while at the same time keeping a general overview and being able to prioritize, while ensuring deadlines are met and timely service is provided.

The Position:

• Evaluate customer’s credit worthiness

• Assign risk category and credit limit to each customer

• Maintain and manage Credit master in ERP system

• Re-assess existing customer according to defined review schedule per risk category

• Conduct customer visit, as required, to obtain information to facilitate credit evaluation and to resolve credit issues

• Assess necessity and adequacy of security offered by customer, including appropriate security safekeeping, maintenance and renewal

• Work with Sales and Collections Specialists to monitor payment performance and follow up overdue collections

• Assist Sales in bad debt recovery efforts and follow up jointly with Law on legal proceedings against trade debtors

• Advise Sales and Customer Services on all credit-related matters, including letters of credit and credit-related clauses in sales contracts

• Other ad hoc / special projects as assigned by Manager

SHE and Security

• Responsible for compliance with all DSM internal control policies on SHE and Security and to report to management on any noncompliance cases observed.

Manufex (SAP related)

• Supervise for correctness and timely of customer master maintenance in SAP & Apollo - Customer master data owner accounting and Customer master data owner credit control.

• Work proactively with SAP & Apollo system consultant to ensure the correctness of AR information - Credit Risk Manager Role in SAP.

Manufex (Non SAP related)

Quality

• Responsible for compliance with all DSM policies and controls on Quality and to report to management on any noncompliance cases observed.

The Ideal:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics

• Minimum 8 years working experience, preferably in multinational companies.

• Experience in Credit Control and financial shared service team preferred.

• Sound business judgment and strong analytical skill

• Excellent written, verbal communication abilities and interpersonal skill

• Fluent English and Chinese

• Familiar with SAP and proficient in Excel

• Self-motivated with good initiatives; good teamwork; ability to work under pressure and organize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
