Eaton’s PDCA (Power Distribution and Controls Assembly) Division is seeking a Custom Order Engineer to join our team. This is a position is based at our Fayetteville, NC facility. Relocation assistance will be offered for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of Fayetteville, NC. Position Overview: The primary function of the Custom order Engineer is to provide applications engineering for product line support. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering designs, providing direction to application engineers and designers, and collaborating with direct customers/field sales. This position will have a heavy focus on interaction with the manufacturing and design teams, specifically the harness, unit and/or structure designs. In this function you will: Emphasis on working with electrical, electro-mechanical, programmable logic controllers, and solid-state controls in motor control applications and electrical distribution systems. Maintain familiarity with communications protocols, variable speed drives and solid-state starters in order to maintain design standards. Manage large projects to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision. Interpret customer one-line diagrams and specifications to determine order requirements and apply Eaton designs to meet customer’s expectations. Perform standard engineering assignments often representing a significant portion of a larger project for Eaton. Coordinate with other Eaton product lines and business units as needed to ensure quality of products to end customer Set-up and programming of PLC, HMI/MMI applications and electronic relays. Generate electrical schematics and mechanical layouts based on information received from Sales and Marketing. Why work at Eaton? Minimum of one (1) year of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (including internships) Authorized to work in the US without Company Sponsorship Preferred qualifications: BSEE or BSME Previous experience and/or knowledge of electrical distribution equipment Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs.
