This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the transformation of the automotive industry as it transitions away from gasoline and diesel vehicles to Electric and Autonomous Vehicles (EV and AV). In this role you will be providing technical support to car manufacturers and their partners.
Helping to solve our customers technical quality issues and driving Intel product health improvement. As a Failure Analysis/ Customer Quality Reliability Engineer you will be part of the EMEA Customer Quality and Reliability team and be responsible for providing technical support to Automotive Customers.
The Customer Quality Reliability Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to
Your technical expertise will be required to support automotive customers by providing debug, fault isolation and failure analysis at platform and component level to solve our customers technical quality issues and driving Intel product health improvement.
This may include travel to provide onsite customer support. You will collaborate with partner teams at Intel to analyse product health data and continuous product improvement.
You will have some ownership for developing debug capability on an ongoing basis.
Customer engagement is a core part of this role and you will be expected to have developed product knowledge to provide technical support to customers.
Innovation and continuous improvement are critical to success in the Automotive market segment.
Identifying and researching component failures to improve product yield, quality and reliability.
Evaluates the electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, subcomponents, and systems to determine the root cause of failure.
Analyzes products reported as failing and recommends corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of the problem.Using both digital and analog test equipment to do board level and component level failure analysis and debug
.Continuous improvement of the failure analysis processProliferating learning across the debug lab network.Maintain necessary records and debug reports in 8D format.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience in debug of electronic systems or components.
Knowledge of Intel Architecture and a good understanding of the PC system basics and CPU microarchitecture, the BIOS, interrupt system, JTAG, Cache, Memory (DDR4), SATA, USB3, PCIe etc.
Strong data analysis and technical report writing skills.
Proven ability in using structured problem solving techniques to solve complex problems.
Experience and competence in a Lab environment, using tools such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analysers and In-System Debug tools is required.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in the automotive industry
Knowledge of Quality systems and automotive methodologies eg. 8D and FMEA.
Experience debugging with Lauterbach and ITP in target probes.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
