Customer Relationship Manager – Logistics

Locations: UK (Macclesfield), Sweden (Södertälje)

Global Logistics has approximately 165 employees, based in 39 different countries across the world. The Logistics Team are responsible for owning the distribution of all products, delivered through +1200 routes around the world. That’s 100% of AZ’s commercial shipments between points in the supply chain, from international freight logistics right through to in-country distribution; getting medicines from factory to customer!

The Role

The Customer Relationship Manager role is a critical role within Logistics for ensuring we provide excellent service to our customers. Working with supply sites, Logistics operational teams, Planners, Quality and Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) in many different countries you will ensure we deliver critical lifesaving medicines to patients on time. You will be the voice of the customer within Logistics and relationship management will be essential to the success of the role.

Key accountabilities:

You will be responsible for driving continuous process improvement; ensuring that customer and logistics projects and changes are always aligned and that Logistics play their part in new product introductions.

You will develop, maintain and improve our customer service through plans agreed annually with our customers. You will also ensure that all aspects of the customer service operate within defined regulatory, compliance, contractual and corporate requirements.

You will resolve supply issues with the Market Distribution Manager / Demand Planners and Logistics Operations and Service Providers, and will be accountable for resolving customer concerns within your remit.

You will lead or represent Logistics in local and/or global projects (eg Supply Chain, Distribution, GDP and Lean).

Be a key representative for EU Hub NPI interactions, to ensure that any NPI launches successfully through Eu Hub.

You will also be responsible for helping to mentor Logistics team members in their customer management skills whilst developing their customer and product knowledge.

Provision of long range customer and market intelligence to help to shape Logistics service development and the introduction of new customers.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven track record as an excellent communicator
  • Customer Management in a global matrix based organisation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Project and change management familiarity
  • Business case development
  • Process Improvement tools and techniques preferably Lean
  • Excellent judgement and critical decision making
  • Knowledge of end to end supply chain, life science environment and associated regulatory environment

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business, logistics, engineering, management or other relevant subject area (equivalent experience will be considered)
  • Experience of working within a Logistics function
  • Supply chain, logistics, customer management accreditation
  • Analytical capability
  • GMP and GDP knowledge
  • Business Process management
  • LEAN thinking
