Customer Value & Public Tender Lead

Within Corporate Affairs, Market Access & Health Economics Area, the mission is developing tender, public offering and customer value strategy for AZ designing main objectives and action plans to align business objectives with customers’ needs and co-leading this strategy with the Value Access Leads, also you will assess and lead the implementation of new models, commercial offers.  Will try to succeed in Regional / Account access and focus on new commercial models and pricing strategy of competitors, to enhance market access uptake at regional & hospital level. Engages with external stakeholders and internal customers on how innovative pricing approaches can be implemented to create win-win situations between patients, payers and AZ.

Responsibilities

1. Team Management and Development

  • Conduct activities and interactions consistent with Company values and in compliance with the Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role. Complete all required training on the AZ Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards on time. Report potential issues of non-compliance.

In addition, for Managers and Project Team Leaders:

  • Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties by (a) positively reinforcing the Code of Conduct and all relevant AstraZeneca Policies and Standards, (b) ensuring completion of all required training, (c) fostering a culture of openness in which employees are comfortable raising questions or concerns, and (d) immediately addressing and reporting, as appropriate, instances of non-compliance.
  • Manager Accountabilities at AstraZeneca include Ethical Conduct and Compliance, Team Management, Performance Management, Individual Development Planning, Talent Management, Recruitment, People information, SHE accountabilities, and Fiscal and Financial awareness.
  • Leaders with accountability for GXP areas are expected to understand the legal and regulatory requirements of their roles in providing appropriate resources (which could be human, financial, material, facilities, and equipment) to maintain the Quality system and continually improve its effectiveness.

2. Business Strategy

  • She/ he should anticipate customer needs, opportunities and risks, and develop proposals accordantly with Business strategy and market situation.
  • Contribute with customer and competitive insights into strategy development.
  • Need to have comprehensive view of AZ products portfolio and has excellent understanding of the Health Care environment, National / Regional Tendering roadmap, local regulation, legal aspects and trends (i.e. in tenders need to know how the market is moving, national tenders, bidding processes, central purchasing groups, etc.)
  • She/he must be the Tender Expert inside AZ. Needs to ensure tendering process is a lean process, avoiding wasted and maximizing business result and minimizing time and resources.
  • Work in straight collaboration with regional/hospital access managers as well as commercial teams to elaborate and put in place this initiatives
  • Ensure that commercial offers initiatives/ policies milestones defined are met in an efficient and timely manner according to the plan and local Working Process/ SoP.

3. Planning and Implementation:

  • Working full aligned with Access field teams, and works closely with national/ Regional tenders departments, to align AZ strategy with national framework agreements.
  • She/he is responsible of analyzing the portfolio and the regions where the company participates or could/should be participating in tendering activities
  • Create simulations to quantify the risk and opportunities for AZ. Ability to evaluate business opportunities from a total revenue perspective short- and long term ; explore / analyse how innovative approaches can be implemented to create win-win situation.
  • Responsible for develop/deliver trainings for the relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • responsible for the development, coordination, implementation , monitoring of commercial to enhance hospital/regional access, increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the local health system (regional and hospital levels) .
  • Provide commercial business case and forecasts as needed to assist in the evaluation of new and ongoing initiatives, and the strategic fit of the initiatives to business objectives
  • Anticipate the evolution of the national hospital environment and the impact.
  • Ensure AstraZeneca's reputation as a leader among all healthcare professionals and stakeholders.

4. Compliance

  • Ensure that all activities related to the role and the unit comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and Code of Conduct).

REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory:

  • Training: Degree / Graduate.
  • Spanish: Native/Fluid and English: C1
  • Computing: Office advanced level.
  • Proven experience of a minimum of 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 3 years' experience in a similar position within the health sector or in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Computing: Office advanced level

Desirable:

  • Specialized training in Health Sciences.
  • Master in Institutional Relations in the Healthcare Field or others in healthcare management or MBA.
  • Specific training in pricing and financing.
  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare environment and main stakeholders at national and regional level.
  • Experience/direct responsibility in commercial roles.
