Job Description
Eaton’s Industries Frontera division is currently seeking a Customs Assistant to join our team. This position is based at our Juarez facility. The Customs Assistant is responsible for elaborating and coordinating the import/export shipments and ensure to reflect current regulatory requirements and procedures. It is also responsible for engagement delivery, customs compliance and quality, productivity and report management and exception management, as well as reporting metrics or KPIs of their operation in charge. Competences: This position must be able to meet Customs Supervisor goals, objectives and initiatives in a timely manner, be proactive in proposing action plans to the businesses and detecting potential customs issues before the authority detects them, thus reducing the impact on the businesses. This position must be capable of getting results. Accomplish the expectation of the internal and external customers and quality and timely decision making. Some activities related with the position will be: Coordinate effectively Import and Export activities to internal requesters. Responsible for operational efficiency the Imports of Raw Materials and Machinery and Equipment. Responsible for operational efficiency the Exports of Finished Good, Return of materials and M&E. Responsible to assign de correct customs regimen to Import and Export shipments. Elaborate paperwork for Import and Export requirements according to internal processes. Coordination and handling of Import and Export of Hazardous Materials (Hazmat). Knowledge, management and correct application of certificates of Origin NAFTA, TLCUE, ALADI, etc. Knowledge and management of in-bond operations for Import & Exports. Coordination for the opening and closing of virtual pedimentos with customs agencies and local Mexican suppliers. Ensure to close on time the virtual pedimentos according to customs regulations. Monitoring and control of returns of raw material to local suppliers (RMA). Coordination of shipments with both Mexican and American customs agencies as well as with carriers. Basic knowledge of Annex 24 and Annex 31. Control and management of both physical and virtual tax files. Knowledge in physical reviews of Machinery and Equipment. Basic knowledge of tariff classification (Mexican / American). Coordinate the local logistics with the carriers and ensure the import and export execution Ensure to comply with the local movements on time Track Import and Export shipments properly. #LI-MM3 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Trade Compliance and/or Customs Law or related careers. Minimum 2 years of experience in the field. Basic knowledge skills in English Medium Microsoft Office (Excel formulas, powerpoint presentations) Knowledge of ERP transactions Strategic planning to ensure Import/Export Operation Medium negotiation skills Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
