What awaits you?

-    Setting-up the processes and partner with local authorities, as well as  internal stakeholders in order to harmonize Customs Management policies with Hungarian legal regulations (e. g. preparation of AEO certification incl. relevant customs permits).
-    Building up the Customs Team and the daily operations for the customs processes (incl. export control & foreign trade law): operating interim customs processes incl. onboarding external provider and support roll-out of SAP GTS.
-    Managing procedures, cases and analyzing the resulting customs consequences for BMW Group Plant Debrecen. Initiate process changes within the BMW Group according to legislation changes.
-    Maintaining proper conditions to ensure the supply of Plant Debrecen and Customers while minimizing the customs risks. 
-    Ensuring the legal compliant and timely submission of customs and tax declarations as well as the legally required goods-related foreign trade statistics concerning BMW Group Plant Debrecen.
-    Providing consultancy to internal and external process partners and cooperating intensively with other departments on all customs-related issues.
-    Supporting further finance processes within the responsibility of the department.

Our team in Debrecen is currently searching for a Customs Manager responsible for the customs processes and functional leadership of the Customs team.

What you should bring along?

-    University degree in Economics or similar qualification required.
-    Minimum  5 years of experience of working in Customs or Logistics field in an international company.
-    Profound knowledge of the European Union Customs Code and Procedures.
-    Certification for Customs Clearance and Brokerage required; knowledge in tax law and environmental protection fee is an advantage.
-    MS Office advanced user proficiency required, SAP GTS knowledge would be an advantage.
-    Project management experience.
-    Business fluent English and Hungarian knowledge is mandatory, German proficiency would be an advantage.
