The establishment of IKEA Supply (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (ISMY) is to support/drive improvement in the current and future Logistics/Distribution Network within Asia Pacific (AP). The organization will supply full range of IKEA products from High Flow and Low Flow goods to South East Asia (SEA) market including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India and future new markets within the region.

We are strategically located at Port Klang, near Kuala Lumpur to cater for an efficient goods flow with minimum lead time for the inbound flow.

About the job

Contribute to the customs and quarantine operations by actively establishing, optimizing operation infrastructure and processes. To coordinate both internal and external stakeholders across supply chains, to fulfill the function goal of availability, low cost and compliance.

Main tasks will be to:

  • Establish new and optimize existing inbound, import and export customs and operation process relevant to permit issuing agencies for availability and lower cost;
  • Maintain local customs database and coordinate tariff usage in connection with Malaysia Customs authorities;
  • Handle registration and regulatory compliance with relevant other government agencies, monitor and application of certificate / permit.
  • Insight of business change and raise business requests towards system solution
  • Manage broker performance in daily work and monitor customs operation KPI
  • Be involved in customs broker cost budgeting and follow-up cost;
  • Coordinate customs audit/inquire/report to IKEA legal entities;
  • Secure customs operation comply with country specific rules & regulations;

 

 

Qualifications

In addition to your several years of experience, we see that you have:

  • At least 3 years working experience in import or export or customs or trade related areas
  • Solid knowledge in customs system and data base
  • Good compliance awareness
  • Good knowledge in supply chain/logistics
  • Good understanding of government policies and regulations (ST, SIRIM, DOA, DVS, MAQIS, MOH, KPDNKK, MCMC, CIDB)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analitycal skills with internal and external parties.
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Experience in 3PL management
  • Good oral and written skill in both English and local language
  • University level or equivalent education background
  • Working experience of customs, OGA and other related logistics supply chain; Project experience will be an added advantage.

Additional Information

This permanent assignment will be based at our temporary management office at Kota Kemuning during the establishment period and to be relocated to the new Distribution Centre in Pulau Indah, Port Klang, Malaysia in year 2020.
