Under general supervision of the Finance Department, the Inventory Control Specialist conducts regular inventories in the C-Store Freezer/ Cooler area and makes necessary adjustments to ensure inventory records balance and reconcile.

Position Responsibilities:

• Count assigned inventories and selected products on a daily basis.
• Conduct recounts and perform other research to reconcile inventory balance on a daily basis.
• Adjust inventory for damages, transfers, returns, receiving errors, etc.
• Run inventory reports on regular basis. Review and analyze for discrepancies.
• Advise supervisor of variances, errors or other types of issues.
• Establish and maintain computer and manual files related to inventory activities.
• Review reports and files to ensure correct receiving of product.
• Communicate inventory discrepancies to departments and employees outside of IC in verbal and written format.
• Operate photocopier, calculator, computer terminal, and other office equipment in support of inventory activities.
• Operate warehouse equipment including RF gun, scissor jack, order picker.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Duties require knowledge equivalent to completion of four years of high school and three to six months of related inventory experience.
• Basic knowledge of warehousing and inventory operations including product knowledge and knowledge of the replenishment and shipping processes.
• Knowledge of computer operations relating to inventory control. Daily use of DCMS & Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and to maintain good customer relations.
• Ability to work independently to ensure completion of inventories within specified time frames.
• Ability to prepare required reports and records.
• Ability to work with shifting time tables and changing project priorities as needed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Regular and sustained periods of physical exertion requiring ability to lift, carry and position objects weighing up to 35lbs using proper body mechanics.
• May require the ability to operate and be certified on various pieces of powered industrial trucks.
• Continuous walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise and potential extremes in temperature
