Care & Treats Formulation Developer, Leeds

The purpose of the Formulation Developer role is to create and maintain the formulations of our dry, care & treat products to meet all our standards and targets. The job holder will be involved in various development projects, from concept through to implementation. They will also play a pivotal role in projects aimed to improve the quality, efficiency and sustainability of our existing portfolio. The job holder will be integral in helping to resolve challenges that arise with raw materials and finished products throughout the supply chain. The position requires close cross-functional partnerships with other R&D functions, Supply and Commercial across local, regional and global tiers to enable the successful delivery of the business strategy.

 

What are we looking for?

 

• Proven experience in research and development and/or technical role in a related company
• Knowledge in animal nutrition, feed/petfood formulation and manufacturing processes used to produce feed and petfood ingredients
• Experience with formulation software and data management is preferred
• Understanding of Petfood consumers, market opportunities, recipes, raw materials and processes constraints
• Strong ability to work in multicultural and multi-discipline teams
• Experience with project management and capability to lead technical teams
• Intellectually curious to find and develop opportunities
• Highly motivated and committed to deliver business results
• Ability to communicate and transfer knowledge to others in various forms (presentations, reports, training…)

 

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

The creation, maintenance and optimisation of a portfolio of formulations using linear programming software

Ensuring that your portfolio of formulations meet all quality, nutritional and legal standards and that they are fit for purpose

Collaborating with and supporting a number of different teams to execute our growth, value leadership and sustainability pipelines.

Generating, leading and delivering quality-, efficiency- and sustainability-related projects.

Building, maintaining and analysing data to drive efficiency and transparency of our product portfolio.
