Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced teacher to join our international school in Wuhan. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching IBDP English and English Literature courses to students in Grades 11 and 12. The role involves delivering engaging and effective lessons, developing students' language skills, and fostering a passion for literature and critical thinking within a diverse and dynamic learning environment.
Responsibilities:
• Teach IBDP English courses, covering a range of language skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Teach IBDP English Literature courses, focusing on the analysis and appreciation of literary texts from various genres and periods.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the IBDP curriculum framework and assessment criteria.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
• Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress and personal development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver interdisciplinary units and projects.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's English and English Literature programs.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in IBDP English and/or English Literature.
• Valid teaching qualification/certificate.
• Strong understanding of the IBDP curriculum and assessment practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English is essential. Chinese language skills are an advantage but not required.
