DTC Sustainability Brand Manager, Europe

Location: our new Direct to Pet hub in Amsterdam

 

 

The DTC team is a newly formed team responsible for running the DTC operations for Mars Pet Nutrition Europe. As a company, we're still family run, and you have the unique opportunity to work for an incubated team that small enough that everything you do has an impact, and we're big enough for that impact to be meaningful for thousands of pet parents, and their pets.

The Sustainability Brand Manager will develop the portfolio/brand and strategy for sustainable brands within Europe. This includes major brand activations and communication, portfolio optimisation and innovation/renovation pipeline. This includes a long-term digital first marketing approach and short-term activations and marketing solutions.

 

What you will need:

  • University degree in marketing or similar
  • Strong brand management expertise (development & deployment), with a track record in developing winning omni-channel campaigns & activations and leading NPD development
  • Ideal you have worked on a Challenger / Digitally Native Vertical Brand/ Direct to Consumer brand
  • Strong analytics skills with ability to navigate through complexity & ambiguity
  • Hands on experience of managing third party agencies
  • Strong sense of perspective and understanding of how your role fits into the bigger picture
  • You are a great communicator and are opening to giving and receiving feedback to people at all levels

What you will do:

  • Create and deploy 2025 brand vision and strategy for sustainable brands in Europe ensuring sustainability is at the heart of everything and growth is driven through purpose
  • Create & deploy the demand generation model for sustainable brands in Europe, giving integrated media and content guidelines and driving distinctive brand assets
  • Leverage consumer & shopper insights to drive portfolio development, range architecture, pricing and P&L for new product launches
  • Own and lead innovation/ renovation and product performance projects from ideation through to post-launch evaluation and review to deliver winning propositions: own the product brief to the cross-functional project team (R&D, design, supply, finance etc.) and the Marketing stage-gate deliverables (validate content, artwork, lead discussions for legal and regulatory checks)
  • Develop a clear & comprehensive channel strategy for the sustainable brands, using D2C as an initial platform to test the proposition
  • If validated, select key distribution channels and create a full go to market (4P) strategy by channel in partnership with the local market teams
  • Work with local markets and Pet Ecom Manager to review performance post go live and optimise business results.
