This role sits within the Strategy & Execution team of IT's Strategy & Performance function. The Strategy & Execution team supports our IT teams to align their objectives and key results to deliver the IT2025 strategic priorities. As a Data Analyst with the Strategy & Performance team you will be playing a key role in defining, storing, coordinating, analyzing and visualizing business performance measures; enabling high-level, data-driven determinations to be made across a wide range of stakeholder teams will be communicating analytical information to technical and non-technical business leaders and stakeholders, enabling them to make the best possible strategic decisions.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the Principal Data Analysts with the identification & documentation of data flows & integrations

  • Collect and interpreting data, analysing results and reporting the results back to colleagues and stakeholders

  • Design and deliver reports and dashboard and data visualizations that support business reviews and stakeholder requirements

  • Identify patterns and trends in data sets and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful and reduce time from question to insight

  • Define and document data collection and analysis processes and data lifecycle management information

  • Ingest and connect data from a variety of data sources and transforming in data management tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI query editor)

  • Design, build and deploy BI solutions (Reporting tools)

  • Support S&P data analytics platform and data storage tools

  • Build data models and visualisations (e.g. based on Python or R)

  • Define and continually improve data models, data storage and data collection techniques, implementing lean processes

  • Clearly and objectively visualizing and communicating insights and results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations

  • Execute ad-hoc analysis on the stored datasets to answer specific one-off questions from business leaders and stakeholders.

  • Supporting benchmarks for comparison through Gartner or other external consultancies

Essential Requirements - Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in a Science, Mathematics, Science, Data & Information Management or relevant experience in working with data models and reporting packages

  • Domain data understanding

  • Experience developing dashboards and reports using MS Excel, ServiceNow, MS Power Bi, MS PowerPoint, Python/ R, ODBC/JDBC.

  • Visualisation techniques and Infographic knowledge to present data to stakeholders

  • Experience providing maintenance and support of data feeds, SQL queries, SQL reports, and raw data exports/imports from reporting systems

  • Proficient in Power BI - making DAX queries in Power BI desktop, integrating & publishing reports into other applications , developing custom visuals & developing compelling insights

  • Experience in Agile scrums and ways of working

Desirable Requirements:

  • Post-graduate degree in MIS, Data Management

  • Experience of Data Analysis enabling tool kits

  • Experience in working in multi-skilled, multi- location teams, working to agile principles.

  • Knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc.

  • Ability to locate areas of improvements in existing process through data mining

  • Understanding performance measures and ability to identify improvements
