This role will support the Siemens Mobility business unit leading on transportation solutions in Highways and Rail environments. These potentially high hazard environments demand strong controls to maintain Siemens Zero Harm philosophy preventing harm to people and the environment. We are looking for hardworking undergraduates ready to help Siemens Mobility develop comprehensive data analytical solutions to enable HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) decision makers to develop both strategic and tactical programs to improve our delivery. Our aim is to be a sector leading company in these fields; being a trend setter rather than follower. The Challenge Embark on your 12-month placement with us whilst taking part in our fantastic intern development programme. We will create an individual training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of it, you will be set up with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to equip you for your professional career in Data Analytics and IT. As a Data Analyst/IT intern, you will be involved with working with the core Mobility HSEQ team who provide guidance and support to the Mobility business units. This role will be site independent and will require travel to our Southwest and Southeast sites therefore we would like you to be living in the Southern region of the UK. This one-year programme, will cover the following key areas: Development and support of Tableau databases Developing strategies to improve data integrity and automation. Providing reports and analytics based on the interrogated data. Supporting the real time publication of dashboards, reports / data on dedicated SharePoint sites Development of SharePoint reporting GUI and tools for self-help Horizon scanning for improved data gathering / management solutions Developing familiarity with AWS / Azure / SQL services and configuration. Liaise with technical experts to fully understand the data content and integrity Document processes and procedures The Candidate We are looking for innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following: You must be completing, or have graduated with a 2:2 or higher degree in a data science related discipline You think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving You can work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions Great written and verbal communication skills Good organisational, time management and analytical skills Excellent negotiation and influencing skills Confident with the ability and self-determination to drive your own development through the scheme Work experience in an analytical / IT environment would be beneficial but not essential What else do I need to know?
