Job Description

Eaton is currently seeking a Data Analyst - Internal Audit to join our team. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarter facility in Beachwood, OH.

Position Overview:

Support the data analytics & audit program of the Internal Audit function. The data analytics and audit program involves identifying and creating computer assisted audit techniques that increase the depth and breathe over conventional financial audit techniques for significant company applications.

In this role, you will:

  • Utilize available data to drive the department continuous risk identification program and work with department leadership to ensure efficient generation of actionable results and integration with the development of the risk-based audit plan.
  • Support the data analysis needs of Audit teams and Audit Lead Data Analysts in planning and completing financial and operational audits, including:
    • Gain an understanding of business processes, evaluate potential risks and work with audit teams and customers to define data indicators of risk.
    •  Identifying opportunities to partner with audit teams and provide analytic services.
    • Gain an understanding of respective audit objectives and creatively defining analytics that can deliver efficient and effective audit approaches for the audit teams.
    • Supporting audit teams in the data acquisition process to ensure the requirements for scoped analytics are met within reasonable timeframes.
    • Executing analytic service requests while maintaining acceptable cycle time / quality standards and effectively leveraging consulting teams.  
  • Continuously improve analytic operations and audit efficiency/effectiveness by soliciting feedback, critically assessing processes, and defining improvement requirements.
  • Gain an understanding of analytic proficiency for all assigned applications and an array of analytic techniques in order to independently define, develop and execute complex yet meaningful analytics.
  • Performs special projects and ad-hoc data analysis requests, on an as needed basis.
  • Support continuous audit reporting operations and financial audit reporting operations by executing routine analytics for quarterly continuous audits and plant level audits.
  • Builds understanding of data analytics and ERP systems.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, and/or Mathematical/Statistical disciplines
  • Experience in using advanced features of MS Access and MS Excel
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau 
  • Data Science experience
