We are seeking a Data Analytics Software Engineer to join our team to develop a data & analytics capability focused on integrated product surveillance. As part of this role you will be designing and developing robust full stack applications as part of a product team of data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers. The team will rely on your expertise in software engineering, full stack development and DevOps to build this visionary capability for generating insights to product complaints & adverse events for Amgen.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead full-stack web-based application development for various components of our integrated product surveillance analytics capability
  • Lead a team of programmers while also willing to jump in and do programming/code-reviews etc. based on project demands. Hands on programming is expected
  • Develop high level solution architecture, feature, and capability assessments for projects.
  • Responsible for defining and implementing project and technical road maps that align with the strategy
  • Overall accountability of technical implementation aspects of projects including planning, architecture, design, development and testing
  • Partner with IS and business stakeholders to ensure that the solution is an appropriate fit for the end users
  • Research and evaluate various web application development platforms
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and developments in web application development frameworks and related and new technologies to provide, recommend, and deliver standard methodology solutions
  • Enable DevOps practices across the team

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of demonstrated ability developing secure, public cloud solutions for successful commercial products and/or services to customers using a SDLC process from start to finish
  • 3 years’ experience designing, developing, deploying, and operating cloud services for multi-national companies using native constructs and controls from AWS, Azure, or GCP. 
  • Experience with front-end web application development, including frameworks such as ReactJS and Angular

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS in computer science or related field
  • 3 years of demonstrated ability developing secure, public cloud solutions for successful commercial products and/or services to customers using a SDLC process from start to finish
  • 3 years’ experience designing, developing, deploying, and operating cloud services for multi-national companies using native constructs and controls from AWS, Azure, or GCP. 
  • Extensive and practical knowledge of native cloud security controls and design patterns for AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with front-end web application development, including frameworks such as ReactJS and Angular
  • Experience using one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, C, C++, Swift/Objective C, Python, Go, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code, developing and operating programmatic pipelines for cloud services, and using automated DevSecOps frameworks to run a cloud SDLC
  • Willing and able to learn new technologies at a rapid pace 
  • Communication skills to work with client partners in articulating the vision and use of Amgen's cloud services
