Business - Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. CO&I is responsible for delivering Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that powers the world’s largest online services.

Specific Job Task - Datacenter Engineering Program Manager will lead Microsoft’s Engineering & Design Special Program for highly secure environments, providing programmatic & design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadership for our datacenter designs & delivery.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The Datacenter Engineering Program Manager will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of Microsoft’s industry-leading high security datacenter designs. This will include the development of new technology and advanced concepts from programming through design development & permitting, followed by construction & operational technical support to ensure the finished Datacenter meets all requirements.  This role will provide program & design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadership for our datacenter designs. To be successful in this role the candidate will collaborate with internal & external customers, lead the direction of highly secure Datacenter technical delivery & oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete Datacenter design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules and budgets of the projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a subject matter expert (SME) in architectural or an engineering discipline ensuring Microsoft’s datacenters meet performance requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • Extensive ICD 705 design and accreditation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to start process for obtaining TS Clearance upon starting
  • Technical understanding of mission critical environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead team of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large data center environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as project or team manager

 

 

 

Background Check Requirements: 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security background screening requirements. These requirements currently include, but may change, and are not limited to:

  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Screen Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Screen background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter while in this role.
